Shoe trouble

For me it was never easy to find certain types of shoes in Germany, like for example ballerinas, because my feet are long and slender. However, in Japan it nearly seems impossible to find my size. Lately I have been trying to find some shoes for the winter and therefore visited different shops; without having any success. My size is 25.5, but most shops only sell women shoes until 25 and if they have bigger ones, they are either too broad or the design is a catastrophe. I was told that I should look in the men’s section, but there I again have the problem that shoes for males are too broad for my feet.

I cannot believe that, since the Japanese get taller and taller and I often see tall Japanese girls, who have about the same height as me. What do all those tall Japanese people do??

My last chance seems to be searching the internet. I am not willing to give up, yet. ٩(๑`^´๑)۶

Preparing for the cold season, and for the holidays

Good afternoon to all of you English speakers.

It has been a busy season for me, and likely for all of you as well. As some of you may of heard I tend to do a lot of walking. In summer that is something that I do everyday as a general rule. During this season however the weather has been a bit too unstable to consistently spend time outside. Fortunately there has been some days with nice enough weather to go outside and get some fresh air. On those bad weather days I have been spending time indoors and doing some final preparations before winter finally really sets in. I cannot remember how many times I have been to the hardware store recently. If I go a few more times perhaps the staff will start calling me by name, and I can start to think of the shop as my second home.

Starting from this week I will be preparing for my Thanksgiving dinner. This year I plan to make pumpkin pie, candied yams, and oven-baked whole chickens. Thanksgiving is not a holiday which I put much thought into though, actually it is really Christmas which I am looking forward to. Even this morning I was considering where in the house to put up the Christmas tree. It is a fairly decent size tree, and I am having a hard time making a decision as to where it could be placed that will not be in the way.

See you all next time!
