The green energy

Hi friends!
Hope you are doing all fine.

Spring has finally showed up, temperature has finally become tenable, even enjoyable and Hokkaido has turned from white to a fabulous green, specially after those fantastic days we had lately. How could we not be fine!?

I hope you are all enjoying the return of the nice days as I'm. Since 1 month I use my free time doing BBQs ( I'm quite sure some of you guys already know that) but I also play basketball with my schoolmates under the railway track near sapporo station.
Recently I went to Rusutsu resort , after 15 years without riding any coasters I could remember how funny it is. A good thrill really.

But they are so many things I still want to do, like doing a BBQ (again) at the beach, going to Hakodate to watch that famous view or why not climb over the mount Yotei that I could see on the way to rusutsu, quite impressive and attractive.

as you can see, energy comes back to me as the temperature is warming up. and I'm sure it's the same for you too guys. So let's keep enjoying our life in Hokkaido, and let's make the most of this spring and of the coming summer.

In the wild

Dear guys, hello!

How are you all doing in occasion of splendid weather? We are all really up to go and spend time outdoor as much as possible, aren’t we ;) It is the best time for travelling, camping, bbq and cold fresh beer among your friends. And of course romantic atmosphere is growing with degrees.

I’m thinking about how it is in my hometown now: so many things to do, so many places to go, but in May, especially end of May, is the period of mites - very dangerous ones and they attack people and animals from trees and blades of grass. So if you go out you always have to beware and watch out. Vacations in the open are fine for the entire family with all that wasps, mosquitoes, ants and flies. Do you remember this old cartoon “Antz”, which is one of the first computer-animated films, about a meek neurotic worker ant who tries to break from his conservative society and longs to express himself while trying to win the affection of the princess he loves; classic story. I just remembered the scene when those expressive characters stumbled on a picnic on a grass and tried to bite from food in a package.

Well, hope you all could enjoy of fresh air and lush grass before summer heat comes. But there is no danger of that here, in a mild climate of Hokkaido.
Cheers!

Spring

Hello chit chatters,

How is everybody doing? I hope you're doing well. Spring came and I think everybody is waiting for summer now. I AM... can’t wait to go to the beer garden BBQs and the beach.
Did everybody go and watched the cherry blossom I did and I did a program with James and Ana in Maruyama Park. It was great coz after we finished we had a lot of free beer YEAHHH.
But spring in Sapporo is still a bit cold but the sun came out so that’s a good sign I want spring to be a bit warmer.

So chit chatters that’s all.
I hope you come to chit chat to meet me on Saturdays!

FROM THE NEW ONE :o)

I WANT TO ASK YOU A RIDDLE:
Say my name and I disappear. What am I?

I want to help you with something else … normally when you are with me than “it” is not there because I looooooooooove to talk!

Hello EVERYONE. It is exciting! Tomorrow I will have my first HOURS at CHIT CHAT CAFÉ and I am really really really looking forward to it! I am looking forward to meeting you, to listen to your stories and talk with you about your favorites.

Of course I could also tell you about me tomorrow but I prefer listening to you. That`s the reason why I use this blog to give you some information about my life in Sapporo. I moved here in beginning of April with my husband. We lived in Saitama before because my husband worked in Tokyo. So for me already the last month was very exciting because I have never been to Sapporo before. My husband is Hokkaido-Boy so we visited his family in the past but they are far from Sapporo. However … last month I tried to get some impressions from Sapporo but it wasn`t very easy because we had many things to do here after we moved but what I saw was great and I am already in LOVE with this city. Many people ask me about winter in Sapporo but for me it isn’t very special because my hometown is near to Alps and we have much much much snow there.

I already told you that I am from Germany so everyone in Japan thinks that I eat sausage everyday and drink just beer! Hahaha … the sausage thing is wrong I think that Japanese eat more sausage than the most of German people do BUT I tell you the true “BEER MAKES ME FEEL LIKE IN HEAVEN hihihi” but also not every German drinks. So Sapporo is really great for me because there is the beer festival in autumn or was it summer?

Ohh … my blog is already long … did you find the answer to my riddle? Maybe you can tell me tomorrow between 2pm to 5pm! SEE YOU!!!!

A Kazakh Golden Week

Hello!
How was your Golden Week?
Here in Sapporo, the last three (four?) days of GW were rainy (((but I very much enjoyed it, falling into a deep hibernation (now I knew that sleeping is my favorite hobby ^^).
Well you know, actually, my country has its own GW. We do not call it “GW” though))
So maybe that’s why *May holidays* in Japan feels very natural to me. In Kazakhstan, the holidays start on the first day of May; it is the Kazakhstan People’s Unity Day. At the café I am always asked about people, culture, language, food (!!!)… of my country. And I believe many of you already know that I am very happy to live in a multiethnic, multi-linguistic, multicultural, multi-religious…many and many “multi-s” Kazakhstan.

There are more than 120 nationalities in my country who speak different languages and practice different religions. I told some of you that I did some dance in junior high (not a professional one though ;D). It always makes me happy when I look back on those days of our dance rehearsals. The May 1st dance was the most exciting))) Because we learned a wide variety of different traditional dances for this day. Just imagine how different are Russian and Uzbek dances, or Caucasian dance and Tatarian dance (sure, most of you cannot imagine it, haha)…Really an amazing experience! I will share with you guys one of my most vivid memories from those days. You know, once I have fallen down on a stage (!), when I was dancing Russian Kalinka (a very famous Russian folk dance). That time that’s not fun, at all! I felt so ashamed of myself, but got back very quickly just like Beyonce did :D. Thankfully, none of my friends could record video of my great fall))

After May 1, we celebrate Defender of the Fatherland Day on May 7. In other words, this is a day of the Kazakh armed forces. Although I believe that many people celebrate this day as the men’s day))) since a man is widely perceived as a defender of women, a family, the fatherland.
And finally, on May 9th, Kazakhstan celebrates the Victory day in WW2. Actually, we have some activities for days. and this year the 9th and 10th are not working days. Before coming to Japan, I thought that Kazakhstan is a country that has most holidays))) I remember my ex-boss, a Chinese guy, often complained that Kazakhstan has too many holidays. But now I know that Japan has no less... hope one day we will call the GW May Holidays “Golden Month”)))) sounds cool doesn’t it?
