The music of the Sun

“Cock-a-doodle-doo!”
“Why does cocks always crow before sunrise”, - I thought, waking up at Kuta town, Bali. Parents tell to their children that roosters calls for the sun to rise: sounds valid, but… it is all about love. They designate their territory and attract hens by their unique voice.

It was my last day of this trip and I wanted to spend it productively, as much as I can but not to get tired. I swam a lot before breakfast, then went to Denpasar city, then enjoyed the beach, sun and salty water with peppy spindrift, got tan more, and then I spent 3 hours at spa – totally relaxed and satisfied enough. Of course it all was flavoured with nice exotic meal, resort atmosphere, communications, music of the city, local colour. I was thinking about all experience I’ve been received during this trip and wondered how I will feel myself when I come back to Japan. Now, I came and spin in a whirl of events, it is wonderful, I enjoy, but something bitter settled down in my soul. I fell in love with Bali. With all its narrow streets, small shops, paintings, art crafts, guitars, tattoo shops, drums, reggae, salamanders and mosquitoes in room, small towns, gaudy shawls, cafes, motorbikes, beaches, traditional melodies, temples, richness of green, noise of the ocean, etc. etc. etc. And smiles are everywhere! People are friendly and cordial there.

Everything was just enough in this trip – it turned balanced ideally! Now, I think, I can work with great zeal and pleasure. And of course, I really look forward to see and talk to you, guys!

“Japan, our hearts are always with you!”: A Voice from Kazakhstan

2011 has been a year of global economic, political and social turmoil – the Arab Spring, the European debt crisis, Occupy Wall Street movement in the US and so on. The year 2011 was also marked by a disastrous quake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11, just a year ago. But 3.11 is different from a wave of revolutions in the Arab world or the violent protests in Europe! It is a natural disaster that makes us feel so weak and vulnerable. And, simultaneously, it might make us think how precious our lives, relatives, friends, hometown… are for us.

There is a video (see link below) made by Kazakhstani people to support you, the people of Japan. I do really like it :D very warm and touching one!
A little mysterious and exotic, so conservative and so modern, a country of good cars and healthy food… Japan is so precious for us, the people of Central Asia! We want to say: “Our hearts are always with you. Nippon, GANBARE!”.

Sapporo's life is good

Hi everyone!
I hope you are all doing well.
Since I'm back to Sapporo, my life is crazy, I'm so busy between my jobs, the school, and my friends but I don't complain, actually that's the most enjoyable thing.

As you might know I'm currently studying Japanese, well recently we had a big test, and I did very well, over 82%, It made me very happy cause I can see that my Japanese increased and is increasing a little bit everyday.
I also enjoy a lot working at chit chat cafe and meeting you guys, it's so nice to find out about new personalities, new points of view, always a pleasure!

I've been meeting my friends too and I've done a lot of activities, for example I've been snowboarding in Naganuma, I went to play sports at "Round One" after a sushi party at "Toriton". I've also done a farewell party in Susukino for my school's friend who is going back to Malaysia and a lot of funny things that I'll gladly tell you next time we meet.
As you can see I don't have much time to get bored, and since the weather seems to be turning warmer I'm happy to say that life is beautiful.
See you soon,

Gilles (France)

The big melt

The snow has started to melt at last. I have been waiting for long to start using my bicycle again.
Last month was full of surprises. David and Ivona came back. I didn't meet Ivona, I just heard about her return.
Already a year has passed since the terrible earthquake. I remember it like it was yesterday.
I hope everybody is OK and I hope that you will come and visit me on Saturday from 2-4pm. Bring something good like chocolates...etc
Joke! Just come and have a nice chat.

Thanks
