Thanks for the memories

Hey guys this is my last blog and I have one last shift in the works at Chit Chat Cafe.... Thanks to everyone who made my job at CCC such an easy and fun one. I have met a lot of people during this year and some but of course a few could be named in this blog but I am not going to do so just in case there would jealousy form other members haha. I wish to everyone to continue to learn English only because it opens doors and it's the language of traveling.

As for me, well I will be going through Asia for one year and then head back to Canada. You all know (or almost) that I love the outdoors and especially Banff and that's probably where I will be headed after my long adventure.

That's it for me, I know it's a short one but I have a history of short blogs so you shouldn't be surprised.

Anyways take care everyone and thanks for the memories!

yoroshiku onegaishimasu

Greetings to the staff and students at Chit Chat Cafe!

I have started working there about once a week and have enjoyed it so far. I like the
the way it is run, the pool table, books and other staff members I have met so far. I will hopefully be able to come to the upcoming party and meet some more of you. I am also looking forward to the upcoming beer festival and am saving my hard-earned (lol) CCC wages for beer.

21st of July

Hello everyone!

I've been following the news about Belgium quite closely for the past few weeks. Did you know that Belgium remains without a government for more than a year? Due to various complex political issues, Belgian politicians cannot agree to form a government. They have been trying to find a way to please every parties for more than 400 days without success. It is a bit scary. Belgian people are usually calm and patient, but I am worried that they might start losing their cool soon.

Today, July 21st, is the Belgian National Day. The Royal speech is usually full of hope and gratefulness but this year, the King has expressed his anger towards the political situation. He seemed very disappointed. Hopefully, this will be seen as a wake up call in the pursuit of a balanced government.

On the news, when asked about their opinion on the situation in Belgium, the reactions of people from other European countries were quite unexpected. An old English man -giving a model display of British composure- answered: "Apart from the political situation, I understand that nothing has changed in Belgium since last year. This might just be proof that we don't really need a government".

Cheers to that!

Talk soon at CCC.

Russian climate

Hello, everyone! Hope you are doing great!
Well, I hope you have air conditioner in your apartments, at least. Because I don't and thus is the reason of my sleepless nights. :)

A lot of people here, in Japan, asked me if Russia was really so cold as they used to think, so I want to tell you little bit about climate in my country.
Russia has a huge territory and a largely continental climate. Most of Russia has only two seasons, summer and winter. The coldest part is Siberia, where summer is very short, about one month long. Usually, daytime temperature is 30°C during the summer, but winter temperatures are really low. The lowest record temperature was -71°C and it made it the most coldest part on Earth. When the temperature is so low, of course, it's better not to go out. So schools and other places are closed for that period.

Disproving stereotypes, Russian summer is very good and has high temperatures. We have the city named Sochi with plus temperatures even during the winter. It makes Sochi one of the best resorts and about two million people visit it each summer. Sochi also has been selected to be the host of the Olympic Games in 2014, as well as the Russian Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2014 to 2020.

I hope I shattered the myth about eternal winter in Russia and you will visit it one day without fear of being froze. :))

Spectacles, Dschingis Khan and Birthday Cake!

Pfuhh~ I am so bushed.. finally the Japanese Language Proficiency Test is over!! I hope that I have passed...though I have no confidence. To be honest, it was difficult, especially the reading and the grammar section. Hopefully I can get some rest before the next examination period in school starts..

How time flies!! It’s already July and I got one year older again! Yes, yesterday was my birthday!! I enjoyed a quiet and rainy morning at home with selfmade curry as breakfast. In the afternoon I got a new pair of spectacles from my boyfriend ‘cause I told him I want them. In the evening we went out for super delicious Dschingis Khanat at Juutetsu (十鉄)in Susukino!! Some of you may know that place? Heard that you can get the best Dschingis Khan in town there and it really was great!! Just imagine the soft and tender lamb melting in your mouth, pfuh~ got hungry again!! My recommandation to all of you who likes lamb!

And back to home my boyfriend really surprised me with a birthday cake!! I was so touched and so happy! Unfortunately we can’t share the cake with you cause we already finished it off, haha.

So, see ya guys at CCC!!
